We also assisted the long-established pharmaceutical company DR. KADE with an important step in its current digitalization strategy: We supervised the relaunch of kade.de from conception and design in the new Corporate Design to the technical implementation on TYPO3 basis. The new presence is a corporate website and service platform for registered users in one.
Founded in 1886, DR. KADE is currently transforming itself from a clinical pharmaceutical manufacturer to a health care company in the OTC market, i.e. a provider of over-the-counter medicines. To reach all important target groups, DR. KADE is increasingly using digital communication channels. Thus, the new website also takes on important tasks in internal communication.
DR. KADE is an expert in preparations for numerous ailments that are part of our everyday life, but which are often taboo (such as hemorrhoids, vaginal mycosis, etc.). The company addresses this fact with open and competent communication on its website: "Quality of life" is the central theme here. The platform reflects the company's understanding of the needs of patients as well as a sound knowledge of what is needed in pharmacies and medical practices.
To ensure that kade.de does justice to all target groups, we followed the principle of user centered design in this project as well. The solution is consistently derived from the specific user requirements. The basis for this is the user stories of all stakeholders, peppered with acceptance criteria. These are used to derive the concrete features of the website as well as a lean and clear navigation with mobile-first orientation. Important messages are communicated via the central slider in the entry area, where they provide access to more in-depth information. In addition to the main menu and attractively designed page and topic teasers, a full-text search function leads to the relevant content.
The technical basis of the website is TYPO3 in its current Version 9.5 LTS. This serves the editors as a powerful asset and content management system. Clearly defined user group authorizations and a TYPO3 Backend minimized to editorial requirements offer the greatest possible overview. The editorial team moves quickly and easily through the Backend when creating and managing content. In addition to an editorial training course specifically for the implemented system, a detailed editorial manual was created as support, which is kept up-to-date with every extension and change to the system. As a content supplement to the offer, the connection to the medical-pharmaceutical platform DocCheck enables specific information and materials to be offered to the professional audience logged on in the service area.
The new website presents the strategic core and portfolio of DR. KADE. Extensive technical and editorial SEO optimizations ensure good visibility on the web.
