Communal intranet

Platform for communication and information regarding the departments, offices and proprietary operations of the city administration of Mannheim.

Since the start of their modernization process, the city administration of Mannheim has operated a high-performance internal platform for the approximately 6,000 employees working at their PC and mobile screens. The many different departments use the municipal intranet as a central portal for communication and provision of information. It is built on the basis of SharePoint 2013.


Efficient information tool

This intranet is earmarked by its clear interface design and excellence as an information source and collaboration tool. Right from its start page, users can see at a glance all content areas and access these. Social media are directly integrated. An efficient search function (with autocomplete function among other features) enables access to more-detailed contents, such as specialized information from service departments, documents, current announcements and videos. Even the internal messaging system Skype for Business is seamlessly integrated into the application.


SharePoint branding and improved usability

As specialists for SharePoint branding, we set the focus on adapting the user interface to the city’s corporate design as well as for optimal usage behavior. We created a uniform look-and-feel that is familiar to users of Microsoft applications. An example of such is that the ribbon bar known from MS Office has been taken over for special editorial maintenance functions of the intranet.
